FIRE
Experiences of a spiritual nature: creativity, passion, intuitive, impulse, courage, life-force, determination. Fire or warmth, whether in the form of physical, personal or 'social' warmth, immediately pervades you entirely. Fire has no boundaries and can arise within you out of nothing.

Intuitives (Fires) surrender themselves wholly to the lure of possibilities, and abandon every situation in which no further possibilities can be scented.

EARTH
Associated with the physical realm: career, home, family, the body, money, possessions. Concepts relating to the earth element include clearly defined boundaries and impenetrability.

A person whose main function is sensation (earth) trusts rational, objective information which is practical and can be observed and gathered directly through the five senses. Restricted to the simple perception of concrete reality.

WATER
Connected to the emotional sphere: love, compassion, dreams, feelings, psychic perceptions. The water element is characterized by the concepts of movement and penetrability. A person whose main function is feeling (water) makes non-rational, subjective decisions based on their sense of values, what is right and what is wrong. How will the decision effect them or other people? They orient themselves by their feeling impressions.

"Water can, in a way, also be regarded as a solid object. The water in a pond or puddle does not flow. The water's surface is a boundary. The water in ditches is often too turbid to allow you to look into it, so its surface presents a barrier to your senses. Conversely, there are solid objects whose shape can be changed and objects that you can see through. So there are certain similarities between the earth and water elements, but their features can be grasped more accurately by studying their differences. That will show you that features that characterize the earth element do not apply to the water element. You don't bump into water, you can move through it and your senses can penetrate its surface. Even in a puddle, the shape of the water is determined by that of the soil around it. And the ditch water is turbid because there are solid particles floating in it."

AIR
Mental/intellectual concerns: reason, logic, analysis, ideas, information, thought, communication. Air can only be observed indirectly, for instance in moving leaves, paper being blown away, white-crested waves forming on water or wind brushing past your face. The presence of air that doesn't move can be derived from the fact that birds and insects fly. If you look through air, you see objects as they are; air does not distort the objects. The air also contributes to the blue color of the sky and the red colors of sunrise and sunset. Air is thus characterized by the concepts of unselfishness (in that it moves aside and is itself invisible) and spreading.
